Challenge:

Shale development is capital-intensive and margins can be low, so optimizing well performance during the development and production cycle is a necessity. With up to 60% of all fracture stages being ineffective there are huge opportunities for improvement if we can better understand the reservoir.

By maximizing reservoir contact of the well bore and precisely placing fracture stages so that every frac counts, operators can improve cost and efficiency to help wells reach their production targets on budget.

Solution:

Starting from a development plan where well placement and trajectories have been optimized using lithological and geomechanical reservoirs models to target production sweet spots, we can provide a suite of services to maximize the performance of each well:

    • PowerLog Frac petrophysics-based software which generates formatted rock and fluid properties to allow engineers to run multiple frac scenarios with increased accuracy in hours instead of days

    • Microseismic data to discriminate hydraulic fracture and other events for an accurate assessment of frac efficiency and Stimulated Reservoir Volume achieved

These further insight into the reservoir are used to validate and calibrate the models and to refine the parameters for the next wells and completions.
